Seek Help
There are varied treatment approaches to chose from: outpatient,
inpatient, 12-step, group therapy, and so on. Some have costs.
Some do not. Non-costs opportunities may include 12-step and
group programs …such as AA (Alcohol Anonymous), NA (Narcotics
Anonymous), and MOM (Moms off Meth) … and insurances in
some cases.
The treatment choice depends on a number of factors such as the
individual’s needs, what a treatment
center feels its success rate is with a particular issue, cost,
and the location.
Possible non-cost programs may be contacted by calling:
- AA (Alcohol Anonymous) and asking for meeting
time and direction … for either AA or NA (Narcotics
Anonymous) meetings -- Columbus, 342-2330 and Seymour, 523-3771: Alanon meetings
may also be available for family. Ask.
- Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) Assessment:
If available, using your company’s EAP plan provides
for free assessment and direction. If treatment help is needed
beyond what this service can provide, following the EAP personnel’s
advice to a treatment source can speed up connecting an individual
with the help and may allow better coverage from your insurance.
- Some insurance providers: This could include
your insurance company, Hoosier Healthwise, Medicaid, or Medicare.
Ask what is available.
- MOM (Moms off Meth – for women):
For information, call Judy Liffert at 342-1552.
- First Call for Help , 376-6666 -- If these
numbers or sources cannot connect you to a meeting, First Call
or Help may be able to provide ones that can.
